Cristina Bozzo, LCSW, serves as Clinical Director at Brighten Bay, where her work spans both clinical leadership and direct patient care. She brings a background in mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders, along with specialized training in EMDR therapy. Her role keeps her closely involved in the treatment process, from assessments and therapy to crisis support and discharge planning.
Cristina chose the mental health field because she has always been interested in understanding people, their experiences, and the circumstances that influence their lives. She believes patients should be seen as more than a diagnosis or a difficult chapter in their past. That perspective shapes the way she approaches therapy and helps her create space for patients to be honest about where they are.
As Clinical Director, Cristina also plays an active role in supporting the clinical team and shaping the quality of care across the program. She values leadership that is grounded in sound clinical judgment and continued learning. The clinicians who mentored her throughout her career have influenced the way she now supports staff and approaches her own responsibilities as a leader.
Outside of work, Cristina enjoys traveling, finding hidden gems, visiting farmers’ markets and crystal shops, and spending time with her dog, Chispa. She is also a lifelong learner who enjoys experiences that challenge her perspective and keep life interesting.
